The sewer system established by the Sewerage Service Act states “it is an integrated body referred to as pump facilities and other facilities that are established for processing sewage water as it connects to drain pipe, drain ditch and other draining facility (excludes irrigation draining facility) that are established to exclude sewage water.” (Article 2, clause 2)
As ways to implement maintenance of the sewer system, there are 3 types of sewer system of “city sewer system” regulated by the same Article (clause 5) or the “river-basin sewerage” regulated in the same Article (clause 4) or the “public sewer system” regulated in the same Article 2 ( clause 3) of the same Act.
Regarding similar facilities that treat sewage water the same way as the sewer system under the Sewerage Service Act, there are the community plant, rural community sewerage business, integrated sewage treatment tank, etc.

Regarding those facilities, it is important to conduct maintenance/control collaboratively while utilizing the attributes of each facility. Also, it is necessary to efficiently conduct maintenance/control of sewage treatment facilities as a whole with effective planning while recognizing the attributes of each region.
