JANS completed the upgrade of Operation and Reliability Management equipment (Dec.2015).

JANS has conducted a hardware replacement of the ORM (Operation and Reliability Management equipment) in December 2015.

Since 2008, 12 ORM servers (NEC Corporation) have been collectively monitoring and controlling over 8,000 CNS system in Japan.
Using this ORM, JANS has been monitoring and controlling CNS system by "8 SMCs (System Operational Management Center)" and "4 ACCs".

At the time of the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 2011, Sendai SMC became incapable of monitoring and controlling of the CNS system by the tsunami, and Chubu SMC was successful to take over the role as the backup function of ORM.

By integrating 12 ORM servers to 2 ORM servers, JANS was successful to reduce development and maintenance costs. In addition, the repuired time for the switching of alternative monitoring control system of the SMC is shortened from 240 minutes to 5 minutes and crisis management capabilities have been dramatically improved.

Using replaced ORM, ATSEP (Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel) will conduct safe and efficient operation of the CNS system.
