Outline of international cooperation and capacity building assistance by Japan

International Cooperation by JCAB(Japan Civil Aviation Bureau)

 According to IATA report, global traffic volume will double over the next 20 years, and the Asia-Pacific region is expected to grow at a rate that exceeds the global average, continuing to develop day by day. Japan Civil Aviation Bureau(JCAB) is taking various measures to respond to this increase in traffic volume and is leading activities in the world and the Asia-Pacific region by working on international organizations such as ICAO and CANSO, as well as multilateral and bilateral international cooperation.

Capacity building assistance for other states (Providing ATC infrastructure and conducting technical cooperation project)

 Through JICA's activities, we provide air traffic control infrastructure and dispatch engineers to other states mainly developing states to train local staff. We also invite air traffic control staff from other states to Japan and have them observe JCAB's sites and be trained.
 To date, JCAB has cooperated by providing 24 ATC infrastructure system and  dispatching more than 200 personnel to approximately 20 countries(as of end of 2024) .
