On August 26 (Friday), 2016, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Yasutada Ohno received a courtesy visit from Shamsur Rahman Sherif, Minister of Land, People's Republic of Bangladesh. Minister Ohno and Minister Sherif mourned the unfortunate victims of both countries due to the terrorist incident in the capital Dhaka on July 1 (Friday), 2016, and Minister Sherif said that the government of Bangladesh will strengthen measures to ensure the safety of Japanese firms. Minister Sherif also expressed gratitude for Japan's support over many years in the general field of land, infrastructure, and transport, and the two ministers exchanged views on the housing problems Bangladesh is facing, and reclamation technology.
