Parliamentary Vice-Minister Mr. Fujii received a courtesy visit from H.E. Ms. Dorji Choden, Minister for Works & Human Settlement, Kingdom of Bhutan.(2016/12/13)

On December 13, 2016, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Mr. Fujii received a courtesy visit from H.E. Ms. Dorji Choden, Minister for Works & Human Settlement, Kingdom of Bhutan, who was visiting Japan for the World Assembly for Women: WAW! 2016. Ms. Choden expressed her gratitude for Japan's previous support in the field of infrastructure. Parliamentary Vice-Minister Mr. Fujii noted that about 70% of Japan's land is mountainous, and that Bhutan has similarly rugged topographical conditions. Consequently, Japan would like to utilize its technology and know-how, and, working with JICA, continue to assist Bhutan in areas such as road, bridge, and tunnel projects. The two ministers also exchanged views on the importance of infrastructure maintenance.
