On 18th December 2013, Minister Ohta received a courtesy visit from H.E Ms. Caroline Kennedy, Ambassador from the United States of America to Japan.
Ambassador Kennedy and Minister Ohta exchanged views on various issues including the importance of the relationship between Japan and the US, the significance of transportation and tourism in supporting this relationship, disaster prevention initiatives learned from the experiences of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Hurricane Sandy, and the Olympic and Paralympic Games which will be held in Tokyo in 2020.
The Ambassador and the Minister confirmed that there will be close coordination to develop the relationship between Japan and the US.
