Returning report made to Minister Ohta by MLIT and JCG officials who participated in the expert Japan Disaster Relief Team dispatched to the Philippines.
24 December 2013. Minister Ohta received a report from MLIT and JCG officials who were dispatched to and returned from the Philippines as members of the Japan Disaster Relief Team in order to help with recovery from the severe damage caused by the typhoon, ‘Haiyan’.
Minister Ohta acknowledged and praised the activities of the team in severe conditions, and emphasized the importance of making use of the lessons learned from their activities in the Philippines to strengthen disaster prevention in Japan.
