Research Project for Sea-Land Intermodal Transportation through Use of Express RORO Vessel

 Logistics Group of MLIT aims to strengthen the overall logistics quality in Asian region and contribute to the economic growth of Asia through the expansion of high quality standard Japanese logistics system.
 
 For this FY, We have conducted the Research Project for Sea-Land Intermodal Transportation utilizing by RORO vessel between Singapore and Indonesia (Jakarta), and have conducted the actual trial transportation of these routes as a part of research. We have just conducted the trial run of Indonesian trailer into Singapore, while the trial run of Singaporean trailer into Jakarta was completed in late February as the trial transportation. This type of pilot project was the first case in ASEAN ocean marine international trading, and we hope that the research will contribute to enhance the logistics network along with the improvement of connectivity in ASEAN region. Through these efforts, we will continue to work on the development of Japanese high quality logistics system in Asia, and will strive to contribute to the improvement of logistics quality of entire Asian region.
