The Work of the Government
Buildings Department |
|
|
The Government Buildings Department determines
"The Standard concerned with Location, Scale and Structure of the Government
Building Facilities" as the basic policy governing the provision of
all government facilities, based on the "Act concerning Construction
etc. of Government and Other Public Office Facilities" (1951 Law No.
181). In addition, the department also plans and proposes measures of every
type relating to disaster prevention, the environment, social welfare, information
technology, and quality assurance so as to provide the government office
buildings, research laboratories, educational and cultural facilities and
social welfare facilities that meet the needs of society. Once a government
facility has been provided, the department provides maintenance guidance
and other support to ensure that the facility continues to provide the appropriate
function and performance. |
Building
and Repair "Building
and repair" refers to the construction and renovation of buildings;
it includes new construction, extensions, remodeling, renovation and
redecorating. |
