- The National Diet of Japan will conduct deliberations of proposed legislation to revise a portion of the Road Vehicles Act. The content of the proposed revision will allow the introduction of the Motor Vehicle Equipment Type Designation System, which has the objective of simplifying certification procedures of the Motor Vehicle Type Designation System, and provide for reciprocal recognition of certification.
- In order to facilitate the implementation of the Equipment Type Designation system, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) hereby announces the holding of the public hearings listed below, which will have the objective of hearing in advance the opinions of related domestic and foreign parties in order to take account of such opinions in the future formulation of specific implementation procedure of the act.
