Minister Ishii Met Mr. Li Jinzao, the Chairman of the China National Tourism Administration

On Thursday, November 24, 2016, Mr. Keiichi Ishii, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Japan, met Mr. Li Jinzao, the Chairman of the China National Tourism Administration, in Tokyo.
At the meeting, the recent trends in tourism exchanges between Japan and China were discussed. Both parties agreed that, toward the celebrations of the 45th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and China in 2017 and the 40th anniversary of the conclusion of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship Between Japan and China in 2018, both countries would further expand tourism exchange between the two countries and would collaborate and cooperate closely to improve the quality of tourism.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Ishii and Chairman Li signed a tourism memorandum consisting of five items, including “Bidirectional expansion of tourism exchanges between Japan and China” and “Attracting tourism visitors from outside East Asia to both countries.”
