Guidelines for Non-Scheduled Flight`s Coordination during Olympics & Paralympics in Tokyo

During the period of Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games including the days before and after the Games, it is forecasted that the metropolitan airports will be extraordinary congested due to an increasing demand from nonscheduled flights of the parties concerned.

In view of this, with the aim to smoothly transport Olympic athletes and referees, and VIPs from various countries by fully employing the limited airport capacities across Japan, the Civil Aviation Bureau of Japan has decided to take the following measures; firstly, temporary designate New Chitose Airport, Sendai Airport and Chubu Central International Airport as Level 3 Airports of IATA standards as well as Narita International Airport and Tokyo International Airport (Haneda) during the 2020 summer schedule, and secondly, establish a governmental general counter to conduct schedule coordination of nonscheduled flights for these airports. Your understanding and cooperation would be appreciated.

The details are as follows.
