During the international gardening and landscaping exhibition "Japan Flora 2000," held from March to September 2000 on Awaji Island, information on vacancies at three parking lots near the exhibition site and a park & ride parking lot on the mainland, transformed into simple VICS diagrams, was provided to drivers. This facilitated navigation of vehicles to parking lots and traffic control, thus reducing congestion on the access roads to the exhibition site.
