Since 2003, the vehicles of telematics service users are used as probe cars to collect data such as traveling speed and route, which is then analyzed at centers and used to navigate cars and predict traffic congestion. In January 2007, a new service started which informs drivers of their fuel consumption estimated from probe data and encourages them to drive eco- nomically.
