Partial Revision of "Items Determining Persons Whose Technique or Skill is Equivalent to or Better than the Persons Mentioned in a) or b) of Article 7, Section 2, of the Construction Industry Law"

Revision of Appended Table 2 of Article 3, Clause 2, and Appended Table 4 of Article 19/2, Clause 2, of the Construction Industry Law Enforcement Regulations (certification of persons with a chief waterworks engineer permit and at least one year of work experience in pipe work as a regular engineer for offices of pipe work businesses)
 

1. Placement of engineers

In compliance with the Construction Industry Law, when applying for a business permit, regular business office engineers and the chief engineers for each construction work site must either have work experience of a specified number of years or be designated qualified persons certified by ministerial ordinance.
 

2. Qualified persons certified by ministerial ordinance

If a person meets the requirements of a national qualification exam conducted in accordance with a law other than the Construction Industry Law and the requirements of a ministerially acknowledged exam, the person is certified as a qualified person approved by the minister after passing the examination.
 

3. Regarding nationally qualified persons in accordance with the Waterworks Act as qualified persons approved by ministerial ordinance

Chief Waterworks Engineer examination as a national qualification in accordance with the Waterworks Law
・Conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare since 1997 in accordance with the Waterworks Law
・Qualification for engineers responsible for setup of water supply equipment for water supply pipes and faucets connected to water supply pipes
・Number of certified persons: 185,788 (148,897 of these are persons certified through training via expired measures)
・The actual results were approved for 3 years after establishment of these qualifications, and now establishment of the position of qualified persons for pipe work is being approved by ministerial ordinance.
