Objectives



 

1. OBJECTIVES

   The objectives of the International Forum on Infrastructure are as follows;
 
  1) To exchange information on international cooperation in the field of infrastructure and to facilitate talks on common issues over the international community such as global environment issues and global-scale projects,
2) To promote mutual understandings among participating countries by providing an arena for exchanges among Embassies in Japan, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MLIT), and related public agencies, and by disseminating information from Japanese side.
 

2. ESTABLISHEMENT

   The International Forum on Infrastructure was established on October 6th, 1992.
 

3. ORGANIZER

   MLIT and Infrastructure Development Institute-Japan (IDI) organize this forum, with corporations of related public corporations and other organizations.

5. ACTIVITIES

   Steering Committee Meeting
  Call meetings to decide on the forum operation (theme, style etc.) .
 Petit Forum
  Visit construction sites and the related organizations in the Tokyo suburbs (in Kansai, sometimes) ; for
  • 50 people (diplomats etc.) each time
  • Twice a year
 Luncheon Meeting
  On a fixed theme, MLIT and the related public corporations hold presentations, followed by luncheon; for
  • Diplomats and public corporation personnel
  • Twice a year
 Commemorative Events
  MLIT leads and holds the events when required.
