The ECMT facilitates held a workshop (Workshop for Sustainable Urban Travel Policies) for exchanging information and views, and implementing policies efficiently on the experience from Implementing Sustainable Urban Travel Policies around the world. Part of the workshop was held in Washington D.C. (U.S.A.) in November 2003 and in Moscow (Russia) in September 2004.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport understood the importance of the international cooperation in the urban travel sector, then held a workshop in Tokyo on March 2-3, 2005 in cooperation with the ECMT.
