JCAB participated in ASEAN SWIM Demonstration

In the ASEAN region, where air traffic volume is expected to increase, the ASEAN ATM Master Plan has been enacted based on the ICAO Global Air Navigation Plan, and the introduction of SWIM (System Wide Information Management) using ICT is one of the key issues.
The ASEAN SWIM Demonstrations were held in Bangkok and Singapore in November 2019 to extend the understanding of SWIM functions and roles to the region. Japan, which has close ties with ASEAN countries, also participated along with the United States and other non-ASEAN member countries such as Australia.

At the demonstration, together with the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), JCAB demonstrated a system-based automatic adjustment of optimal flight paths by air traffic management facilities and airlines using digitized flight plans. With the increase in air traffic, adjustments that would be difficult to respond with human power alone occurred, but when spread among ASEAN aviation-related people, it is possible to adjust instantly using SWIM.
