Parliamentary Vice-Minister Mr. Ohno received a courtesy visit from High government officials from five nations in Central Asia

On 18 October 2016, Mr. Ohno, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), received a courtesy visit from nine high government officials from five nations in Central Asia, including Deputy Minister of Road Transport Kosaev of the Republic of Turkmenistan, Deputy Minister of Transport Yorova of the Republic of Tajikistan, Investment Projects Implementation Group Director Mamaev of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, Transport Committee Chairman Asavbaev of the Ministry for Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and International Transport Department Deputy Head Muminov of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Parliamentary Vice-Minister and the high government officials confirmed the longstanding friendly relations between Japan and Central Asia, including a visit last year to Central Asia by Prime Minister Abe. They also exchanged views on topics such as the importance of logistics and transportation infrastructure, and confirmed that cooperation will continue in the future.
