2.9 Port and Regional Development

 The creation of attractive communities centered on “Minato (ports)” will be promoted to meet various needs including the revitalization of communities through the encouragement of exchange between local residents and promotion of tourism through the Minato Oasis and the Port Support Group System.
To promote tourism in coastal areas and revitalize communities, support has also been given toward the efforts of local governments to refine tourism features such as tours and events, so as to improve an environment of acceptance, and assure tourists visiting Japan against disasters.



■ Overview of the Minato Oasis
Facilities used for continuous efforts of community promotion centered on “Minato (port)” through the participation of residents registered as “Minato Oasis.”

■ Advantages of the Minato Oasis
Priority distribution of social capital development, comprehensive grants for green space maintenance, participation/qualification to participate in and hold the National Convention of Minato Oasis Sea-class Gourmet, posting on various maps, etc.

■ Overview of the Port Support Group System
The port managing body designates an appropriate private organization as the "port support group " to realize more detailed port management in collaboration with public and private sectors.
