For service providers performing maintenance of the lifeboat, etc


Service providers that maintain objects (lifeboats, etc.) to be installed on the following vessels approved by the Administration or its Recognaized Organizetions (RO) based on Chapter 3, Rule 20, of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974  (SOLAS) are as follows:

<Applicable Ships>

  • Vessels subject to SOLAS Convention vessels (passenger ships engaged in international voyages and non-passenger ships with a gross tonnage of 500 tons or more)

<Applicable lifeboats etc.>
  • Lifeboats (including free-fall lifeboats), rescue boats and fast rescue boats
  • Lifeboats (including launching appliances as well as on-load and off-load release gears for lifeboats by primary and secondary means of launching appliances for free-fall lifeboats), rescue boats, fast rescue boats and davit-launched life rafts

The maintenance service providers accepted by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism are as follows. (MSC.402 (96) ANNEX 7.2)

Note : Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism accept service providers authorized by RO (limited to ABS, DNV-GL, LR, ClassNK based on MSC.402 (96) ANNEX 7.4.3)
