Both ministers stressed the importance of promoting the flow of tourists between the two countries, and agreed to conduct actions such as:
i) Formulating an action plan to promote the flow of tourists taking advantage of the 50th anniversary of the normalization of the Japan-Korea diplomatic relationship
ii) Preparing for joint marketing of tourism for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games/ 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games
iii) Working on the resumption of the Japan-China-Korea Ministerial Meeting on Tourism


Meeting with Dr.Yoo Jinryong
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism

Both ministers shared various challenges such as protection and reduction of damage from natural disasters, countermeasures against deteriorated infrastructure, and the development and maintenance of transportation networks. The ministers also agreed to advance policy talks about these challenges.
Both ministers agreed to cooperate with each other through international organizations including APEC. Both countries will coordinate in advance on joint proposals, and actively support each other’s efforts to hold international conferences.
The ministers will also cooperate in the development of transportation networks in preparation for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games/ 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
