JOIN (Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development) is inaugurated today

JOIN’s organisational meeting and inauguration ceremony was held today.

1. What is JOIN?
 JOIN is a central government funded corporation that aims to invest and participate in transport or urban development projects, involving Japanese companies, such as bullet train, underground, airport, or green city. Corresponding to current wide spread of PPP infrastructure projects in both developed and developing countries, JOIN will contribute to diffuse Japanese high quality infrastructures in terms of construction, supervision and operation, in order to share economic growth with others.
 
2. Inauguration of JOIN
   The Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Mr. Akihiko Ohta, addressed that “Both domestic and foreign partners expect JOIN to implement strong contribution for PPP projects. JOIN’s Participation to Japanese team would enhance competitiveness of our infrastructure business.”
   The President and CEO of JOIN, Mr. Takuma Hatano, expressed his strong intention to support Japanese companies that expand their business abroad.
