Signed the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ministry of Transport
of the Kingdom of Thailand in the field of railways and urban
development!
On 30 April, 2025, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan and the Ministry of Transport of the Kingdom of Thailand signed the Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of railways and urban development in order to further accelerate the cooperation between Japan and the Kingdom of Thailand by enhancing the contents related to urban railway sector such as maintenance support for the Red Line and TOD in which Japan has strengths. |
We will continue to further strengthen the cooperative relationship between Japan and the
kingdom of Thailand in the field of railways and urban development.

3.Overview of the MOC
This is an update to further enhance the "Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of
Railways " concluded in December 2022. In particular, the contents about the urban railway
sector such as maintenance support for the Red Line and TOD in which Japan has
strengths have been enhanced. The title of MOC has been changed to "Memorandum of
Cooperation in the field of Railways and Urban Development."
4.Contents
The purposes are to increase the mutual understanding of policy, laws and regulations,
development and institutional arrangement in the field of railways and urban development
in Japan and the Kingdom of Thailand, and to share experiences and technology in specific
areas of mutual interest, and to support the capacity-building. The cooperation areas are as
follows:

●Mass Rapid Transit Master Plan in Bangkok Metropolitan Region, Phase 2
(M- MAP2)
●Urban Railway Development
●High-Speed Rail
●Freight Railway Transport
●Disaster Preparedness
