2023/03/15
Tokyo, 15 March 2023 -- the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and the World Economic Forum Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Japan (C4IR Japan) will jointly host a High-Level Round Table in Tokyo on 28 March, 2023. This public-private event is an official precursor to the G7 Sustainable Urban Development Ministers’ Meeting, to be held on 7-9 July in Takamatsu, Kagawa. |
The G7 Sustainable Urban Development Ministers’ Meeting was inaugurated in 2022 under the G7 presidency of Germany. As the active engagement of cities in global issues such as climate change has become essential, it is increasingly important to reflect urban priorities in the national agenda to enhance cities’ sustainability.
The High-Level Round Table will bring together senior urban development officials from G7 nations as well as other leading thinkers from national and municipal governments, business, and civil society to discuss topics related to cities’ net zero initiatives for carbon neutrality and resilience, equality, inclusiveness, and technology governance.
Outcomes of the discussion will be published on the official event website.
