In Hokkaido, frequent disasters
have occurred in recent years caused by the volcanic eruption of Mt. Usu,
the offshore earthquake near Mt. Tokachi, typhoon No. 10 in 2003, typhoon
No. 18 in 2004, etc.
In order to prevent damage caused by such disasters, though
the Hokkaido Development Bureau takes the lead and cooperates with the organizations
concerned disaster measures to advance are:
