Central Government Building No.4
Central Government Building No.4
The construction of Central Government Building No.4 began in 1969 as part of the Kasumigaseki District project, and it was completed in 1971. In March the following year, the building won the Government Buildings Department Director-General's Prize in the "20th Building and Repair Design Competition" held for the purpose of improving design and technology in building and repair.
In recent times, about 900 m2 of greenery has been provided on the building's rooftop as part of an environmental initiative for the government facilities in Kasumigaseki. In addition to improving the environmental impact of the building, the greenery that has covered the conventional tile paving of the roof is aesthetically pleasing. The building is surrounded by skyscrapers, and it offers a pleasant vista for people looking down from their windows.
