Drafting of standards and opportunity to present opinions;

1. Ordinance name and description of standards

Drafting of standards is to revise standards for judgment by “Manufacturer, etc.(*)” with regard to the improvement of performance for following “Designated Machinery (Motor vehicles)” provided for the Law Concerning the Rational Use of Energy (Law No. 49 of 1979).

(*) Manufacturer, etc. is any person who undertakes the manufacture or import of Motor Vehicles.

2. Method of presenting the draft

Interim Report on Target Standards for Vehicle Fuel Consumption.

3. Opportunity to Present Opinions

Any person who intends to state opinions should submit their name, title, affiliation (including name and address), telephone number and the opinion in Japanese by E-mail to section in charge on or before 13 Nov. 1998.
