The "Annual Report of Transport Economy" is an official report of the
Japanese Government in which yearly transport activities in Japan are reviewed
so that they can be reported to the people. The Annual Report has been published
yearly since 1964.
In recent years, transport in Japan has strengthened its international ties
in the fields of marine transport and air transport, and the necessity of international
cooperation in these fields is rapidly increasing. This English edition of the
Summary of the "Annual Report of Transport Economy" has been complied for the
first time with the aim of making transport situations in Japan widely known
in foreign countries.
