@ @ On July 15, 1994, the Maritime Safety Agency started operating the Nagoya
Port Marine Traffic Center as a marine traffic center which controls the sea
within the port.
@ @ At Nagoya Port, two routes coming from the mouth of the port meet at the
center of the port, and these are further connected to the route at the end
of the port. As a result, vessels tend to gather at the center of the port where
the visibility is poor, and there were voices calling for the establishment
of a new system to ensure safe navigation in the port. Thanks to the Marine
Traffic Center, it is expected that traffic safety will be further improved
at Nagoya Port, because information can be provided to vessels in conjunction
with navigation control.
