Mr. Kenji Ogiwara, a gold medalist of the two consecutive Olympics, gave a lecture at a training class for staff in charge of tourism administration (Tourism Administration Forum).
He explained his experiences as an athlete and efforts related to sports when he was a member of the House of Councilors in detailed and easy-to-understand manner. After the one-hour lecture, a round-table discussion was held in a free manner and he gave us advice on efforts for sports tourism. The Japan Tourism Agency will continue to collaborate with Mr. Ogiwara in efforts for sports tourism mainly in the field of winter sports.
The year 2011 commemorates the 100th anniversary of the arrival of ski in Japan. I expect you to vitalize Japan by enjoying skiing and sightseeing.
The Japan Tourism Agency will continue to strive to realize a tourism nation.
