On August 2, people involved in the Tokyo-Edomae triathlon (slated for October 10) visited the Tourism Agency.

　They communicated their ardent wishes to hold a triathlon event in Jonan Island, located in the Tokyo metropolitan area. By doing so, the island shall become a Mecca for triathlons in the future, with triathletes gathering regardless of the season, and developing the triathlon into an event able to make ongoing contributions to sports tourism.

　In the future we will continue cooperative collaborations such as this to draw attention to trends in each region involving the actual practice of sports.
