[The deadline has been extended]Open Applications: New Solutions for Implementing Ideal Tourism and MICE
Last Update : 2020/11/10
The Japan Tourism Agency is conducting a survey open to the public in order to collect ideas for solutions to revitalize tourism that meet post-COVID-19 “New Normal” demands. We have already been supporting for innovative industry solutions, such as the “G20 Tourism Innovation Pitch Contest” held in conjunction with the G20 Tourism Ministers Meeting in 2019. This year, the JTA is searching for effective solutions from tourism- and MICE-related businesses to aid in the revitalization of the tourism industry, which was severely impacted by COVID-19. Please follow the guidelines below to apply. We look forward to hearing from you!
Application Information
Theme 1: Solutions (Services, Products, Plans, etc.) to Revitalize Tourism in Post-COVID-19 era
Tourism is stated to be the largest-growing industry of the 21st century and is an important factor in economic growth worldwide. However, it is also one of the industries most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to revitalize the tourism industry during and after the pandemic, it is urgent that we use technological innovation to revolutionize tourism services available before, during, and after travel.
We are currently accepting suggested solutions to these issues in order to realize this goal.
Theme 2: MICE Implementation Solutions (Services, Products, Plans, etc.) Meeting “New Normal” Standards
Since it has become difficult to hold traditional MICE, such as international conferences, where participants gather in one place, online and online-offline alternative hybrid formats have become more widespread. The benefits of these formats, namely the ability to attend without traveling, are being recognized, and online meetings are expected to continue even following the pandemic. On the other hand, the benefits of on-site meetings are being reexamined by both participants and venues, along with simultaneously-held, hybrid-compatible meetings being sought to reduce costs and provide safer on-site meetings.
We are currently accepting holistic solutions to address the above issues facing the MICE industry especially international meeting and conferences.
