(3)Study on Topographical Appropriateness


The target regions for survey (Hokuto, Tokai and Mie-Kio region) established by the Council
were divided into meshes of 1km square and their topographical conditions were evaluated in five
stages.
The evaluation was conducted from three viewpoints as shown in the figure below. The
evaluation results confirmed that there was a considerable number of areas which can be
regarded as appropriate by just viewing their topographical conditions in each area undergoing
detailed survey.
The themes to be studied in the future are relative evaluation between regions from a wider
range of viewpoints including the environment and natural disasters.

Imagery Drawing of the New City Published

The Council for the Relocation of the Diet and Other Organizations recently published a imagery drawing of the new city, the relocation site of the Diet and other organizations, to obtain the understanding and stimulate the interests of a wide range of citizens about the capital function relocation.
The drawing colorfully depicts the bird's-eye view of the new city and images of urban activities conducted there utilizing Computer Graphics (CG).
The new 21st-century city images and life styles, which can become models for Japan and overseas, are depicted based on the following basic concepts for the new city:


"Open Politics and Administration"
"Ambiance of Prosperity and Culture"
"Community Full of Affection"
"Symbiosis with Environments"
Open Diet building modernized with the latest model of information equipment


The published imagery drawing was based on opinions of a number of citizens and experts. Even more opinions are cordially invited.
