Symposium on "Japan's Future and the Capital Functions Relocation"to be Held |
The National Land Agency and the Council for Relocation
of the Diet and Other Organizations will hold a symposium titled "Japan's
Future and the Capital Functions Relocation." The purpose of the symposium
is to let the people understand the significance of the capital functions relocation
which plays an important role in Japan's development and attitude in the future
including implementation of a new political and administrative system and reorganization
of the national land structure.

their name, address, job assignment, telephone number, and Fax number together
with their opinions and/or requests. The secretariat will send admission tickets (by post cards) to the applicants after receiving applications (The number of tickets is limited.) |

{Third Term Started}
The deliberations of the Council for Relocation of the Diet and Other Organizations entered a new stage (the third term). In this new stage, the Council will comprehensively evaluate each region from September 1999 after deciding regions subject to the investigation (the first term, from December 1996 to January 1998) and conducting a detailed investigation by disciplines and regions (the second term, from January 1998 to September 1999). |
{Regional Units Subject to the Comprehensive Evaluation}
A regional unit for comprehensive
evaluation is defined as a homogeneous region where the new city is feasible from the viewpoints of the intention of the related prefectures, available airports, and planning and construction status of the transportation systems including roads and rail roads, considering that the city is to be the seat of the Diet. Practically each region in the table bellow will be subject to the comprehensive evaluation as a regional unit. |
