Research on the introduction situation of various local public transportation（Report No.147）

Summary

Due to progress of depopulation and low birth rate and aging, it has concerned that private sector becomes difficult to maintain their transportation service and it leads to route abolition and reduction. On the other hand, it is pointed out for some local governments to lack know-how to examine introduction of new local public transportation service.
In this research, we summarized consideration and evaluation points before and after introducing transportation service which contributes judgment of validity or appropriate improvement based on objective data so that local government enables to realize business continuity of Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) and community bus (fixed route mini bus operated by local government) adjusted by local characteristic. In conclusion, we recognized consideration contents and efforts which contributed to business continuity and user increase of DRT and community bus.
