◆Research and study on flood disaster-proof community development procedures with several entities

The purpose of this research study is to provide basic data for regions planning to introduce disaster reduction policies. Factors such as background of introducing specific policy measures and actual implementation structures will be examined through surveying the past examples of community development policies with flood disaster prevention measures.

◆Research Study on the Latest Trends in Long-Distance Transport Infrastructure Policy under Green and Digital Transformation

In this study, we examine how other countries are approaching long-distance transportation infrastructure to align with their green transformation (GX) and digital transformation (DX) initiatives. By analyzing successful policies and frameworks from foreign cases, we aim to identify best practices that can inform future policymaking for Japan’s long-distance transport infrastructure.

◆Research and study on overseas development of infrastructure systems collaborated with target countries

The purpose of this research study is to provide basic data widely useful for drafting medium and long-term strategies in future overseas development of infrastructure systems. Business environment including public private collaboration, policies and regulations in potential target nations and cities will be examined to promote participation in O&M (operation and maintenance) business in the overseas infrastructure projects.

◆Research and study on the innovation and governance system on AI in transportation sector

The purpose of this study is to provide basic data widely useful for the future development of AI in transportation. Through an examination and analysis of the current state and future outlook of governance systems for AI in general, and AI in transportation in particular, we will explore trends in AI technology development, as well as the current status and anticipated responses of transportation operators to governance systems in Europe and North America.

◆Research and study on air passenger trend with focus on international transit flights

The purpose of this research study is to provide basic data to understand recent air passenger trends applicable for discussion for desirable situation in international air network with focus on changing trends in international transit flights at major international air markets.

◆Research Study on Mobility Policies Addressing the Needs of Diverse Stakeholders, Including Younger Generations

This study aims to develop foundational insights to inform future mobility policy in Japan by examining conventional transport modes and alternative transport modes - such as active mobility (cycling and walking) and practical micromobility options - that can effectively respond to the mobility needs of diverse groups, including young people, parents with children, and women. These groups have often been underrepresented in traditional transport policy discussions.

◆Research and study on urban redevelopment measures for mixed-community formation

The purpose of this research study is to provide basic data for urban redevelopment measures to build mixed community, such as measures to create socializing places for all ages by using vacant houses and vacant land, housing support for elderly people, mobility support, childcare support, and relocation support.
