Smartway serves as a common platform to support the computerization of road transport, and comprises three components: high-tech information devices (fiberoptic cable, sensors, information provision devices, etc.), control systems (Road Communication Standard, road-to-vehicle communication, etc.), and data storage devices (GIS, and database, etc.). Utilizing the functions of these components, Smartway provides various ITS services.
