Overweighting trucks (including specially permitted commercial vehicles) are the cause of damaging roads

Overweigh trucks may cause cracks on bridge piers of expressways, and even the collapse of the bridge. Some data suggests that approximately 60% of the damage to the concrete floor slabs of bridges is attributable to overweight trucks, which account for only 0.7% of all traffic and it is a serious issue for the protection of roads.
