Section2 Advanced Road Traffic Services

AHS (Advanced Cruise-Assist Highway Systems) for Safe and Comfortable Driving Condition

Cruise assist services by road-to-vehicle cooperation

Key technologies of AHS

The latest technologies are utilized in AHS, such as for detecting road conditions and collecting information that are used for sensors, road-to-vehicle communication technologies for transmitting the detected information to vehicles, and technologies for providing information to drivers. For example, a sensor (information collection technology) detects standing vehicles and other obstacles. The information (road-to-vehicle communication technology) is transmitted to a roadside antenna (communication technology) and then to vehicles. The vehicle communicates the information and issues a warning (communication technology), operational supports and improves the safety driving.
