Large-scale failure of the rock bed is apprehended to occur along National Highway No. 45 in Moshi District, Iwaizumi-cho, Iwate Prefecture. The Sanriku National Highway Work Office conducted emergency works to protect slopes from falling and is monitoring the behavior and displacement of the rocks using electro-optical distance meters.
