Car navigation systems started to be installed only 10 years ago, but had been installed in over 19 million vehicles by June 2005. In fiscal 2004, 3.55 million units (115% of that in the preceding year) were shipped, accounting for about 90% of new vehicles registered in that year. Car navigation systems are now installed as standard and are changing car life.
