This is the only survey grasp the monthly trend in orders received for construction work.
The estimate can be used as evidential material on economic.
Also, amount of orders received from public sector is one of the indices in Monthly Economic Report
which states the government's appraisal of the economic situation.
In April 2000, The Statistics on Public Construction Works Starts,
the Statistics on Private Sector Civil Engineering Works Starts,
and the Statistics on Orders received for construction Works were
restructured as Current Survey on Orders Received for Construction
This estimate is total amount of prime constructions which are received from the public
sector for 5 million yen or more (including amended or modified contracts).
This estimate is total amount of prime civil engineering constructions and installation works for machinery
and equipment received from the private sector for 5 million yen or more and prime construction received from
the private sector for 500 million yen or more.(including amended or modified contracts).
Total value of construction works.
Construction works received on contract directly from the orderer.
In the case of the private sector, this includes in-house construction work carried out by the company itself.
Construction works received on contract from the main contractor.
This includes primary and secondary subcontract work.
National government, independent administrative organization, government-related companies (East Nippon Expressway,
Japan Post Group, Narita International Airport Corporation, national university corporation, etc.), the prefectures,
the municipalities (cities, towns and villages), the regional housing supply corporations, etc.
All profit and non-profit organizations other than public organizations, and individuals.
(Including JR, Japan Tabacco inc., Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Co, Agricultural Unions, Land Readjustment Union,
third sector, and etc)
Money value of completed portion of the construction order received
Maney value of not completed or not started portion of the construction order received .
Remaining order received in terms of the number of months can be obtained by dividing the remaining orders received by the amount completed in a month.
