Sakata Port(area:TOHOKU/YAMAGATA)

Summer Autumn Winter

The Sakata Port, situated in the city of Sakata in Yamagata Prefecture at latitude 38? 55' N and longitude 139? 49' E, was developed at the mouth of the Mogami River (designated a Class A river), which flows from the Shonai Plains between Mt. Chokai and the Three Mountains of Dewa into the Sea of Japan.
In accordance with the Ports and Harbors Act, the port area comprises the waters within a 3,450 meter radius with the center 323? 1,600m from the Mt. Sanno (Mt. Hiyori) Triangulation Station (latitude 38? 55' 11" N and longitude 139? 49' 49" E), between the mouth of the Mogami River (South Breakwater Base Point) and the point 2,600 meters upstream from there, the Mogami River 120 meters wide along the levee, and the Niida River downstream of the Shinnai Bridge.
