1. On March 31, VICS started information services along major toll roads from the Tohoku to the Kyushu regions.

The Vehicle Information & Communication System Center (VICS Center: Mr. Masao Kamei, President) started providing VICS information along major toll roads from Tohoku to Kyushu.
Providing information along the 3rd Keihin Road, in particular, has broadened routeselection for drivers because VICS information is now available along the seven major routes connecting Tokyo and Kanagawa Prefectures, including the 1st and 2nd Keihin Roads and the Metropolitan Expressway where VICS information has already been available.
Following the service started on December 18, 1997 along the Trans-Tokyo-Bay Road (Tokyo Aqua Line), Tokyo Aqua Line connecting road, the Keiyo Road and the Chiba Togane Road, providing VICS information along these other toll roads has been received favorably among users.

Kyushu Kagoshima Road
