Ports and Harbours Bureau

2.5 Cruise Promotion Policy

2.5.4 One-stop window for cruise promotion

When foreign cruise ship operators have considered calling on Japanese ports, they have voiced concerns for a lack of central contact points or sufficient information on port of call destinations. For this reason, a one-stop window for foreign cruise ship operators was established in April 2016 within the Cruise Promotion Office of the Ports and Harbours Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

2.5.5 Promoting the ports of call for nationwide operations

In cooperation with the National Cruise Revitalization Council, which is comprised of port administrators, etc. throughout Japan, the Ports and Harbours Bureau of the
Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism continuously strives to enhance the volume of information by holding business meetings between cruise ship operators
and port administrators. A website is also available to provide information on port facilities and tourism around ports of call in a centralized manner.
