Norway-Japan Workshop “Future Technology and Finance in the Maritime Sector”


 On 12th February 2016, Norway-Japan Workshop “Future Technology and Finance in the Maritime Sector” was held in Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries (Oslo, Norway). The purpose of this seminar was to expand the cooperation between Norway and Japan in the maritime sector, and to seek the further cooperation in new technology area. This workshop was organized in cooperation between the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries (MTIF), Norwegian Shipowners Association, Innovation Norway, Japan Ship Centre and the Fridtjof Nansen Institute (Norway).

 In the workshop, in which about 70 participants from Norwegian and Japanese governments, shipping companies, shipbuilding companies, banks and others participated, Ms. Ida Skard. Director General of Maritime Department of MTIF, made opening remarks, and the participants exchanged maritime policies, ongoing efforts to develop the maritime industry, and financial supports through some presentations.

 In addition, in the break time, Ms.Dilek Ayhan, Vice Minister of MTIF, visited the workshop exchanged the opinions with the presenters and participants.
