On 4 October 2022, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MLIT) of Japan and the Philippine Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) held a Business Workshop on Road Tunnel Construction and O&M in Manila.
　During the workshop, a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation on the construction and O&M of new road tunnels was signed. On the following day (5 Oct), the participants also visited the Davao Bypass, a road tunnel under construction in the Philippines.
