Inspection Procedure:


To undergo an inspection, various documents must be submitted along with the presentation of the motor vehicle itself.

In the case of initial inspection for a motor vehicle requiring registration, inspection is conducted at the time of initial registration. In the case of the motor vehicles designated by type, presentation of the motor vehicle itself is exempted upon presentation of the completion inspection certificate.

In the case of renewal inspection, presentation of the following documents is required:

Documents required by The Road Vehicles Act

  1. Application for renewal inspection (OCR sheet)
  2. receipt for the payment of inspection fee
  3. Motor vehicle inspection certificate
  4. Records of periodical checks, maintenance and repairs

Documents required by Other Ordinances

  1. Verification of the payment of vehicle weight tax
  2. Verification of the payment of vehicle tax (or verification of the payment of mini-sized motor vehicle tax in the case of mini-sized motor vehicles)
  3. Verification of the conclution of compulsory Automobile liability insurance

A motor vehicle carrying a safety regulation conformity certificate shall be exempted from the presentation of the motor vehicle itself when it has been issued by a designated motor vehicle repair business shop (designated garage) which has maintained and had such a motor vehicle inspected by a qualified motor vehicle inspector.
