1. The Reconstruction of
the City Transport System Most areas of a city are largely comprised of residential areas linked to large commercial areas. These areas are closely related to each other and a transport system is an essential part of the make up of a city. Careful consideration must be made when incorporating the transport network with the rest of the city. For these reasons city and transport policies are both taken into account when using TOD15 to allocate the use of city space. The allocation of city functions and the accompanying transport system are part of "The Reconstruction of the City Transport System" idea where the construction of a new city transport system is not based on the use of the automobile. <Proposal> Regional public associations form an agreement on regulations with related parties. These public bodies make action plans based on the idea of "the reconstruction of the City Transport System". The National Government's role is support regional associations with guidelines and technical support. <Correcting the allocation of city functions> -The construction of ring roads and bypasses, the allocation of distribution points to avoid traffic coming into the city. -Making sure that public areas, welfare services and residential areas are located close by to transport terminals. -Setting up bus lanes and LRT16 routes connecting to key transport routes. -Creating overhead bypasses over railways to eliminate the need for railway crossings |
